The Old Thatched Norman Farmhouse is set in 10 acres of land. In the garden is the Petite Maison. It is the former bread oven for the surrounding farmhouses and has been converted into sleeping only accommodation with a shower room. The Petite Maison is never rented out separately.
There is also a private pool, which is unheated, and available only from May until September.
There is parking for several cars.
The house backs onto the Foret de Brotonne, the French National Forest and we look towards the Seine River. We are about half way between the seaport of Le Havre and the medieval city of Rouen. There is a wonderful view of The Pont de Brotonne from our garden, especially when it is lit up at nights on the weekends. The bridge is also our easy access to the north side of The Seine.
Due to the thatch and gardens, fires are a risk. A barbecue is available as are wood burners for heat on chilly summer evening outside, but they must be very carefully attended and extinguished. This is a non-smoking house.Outside we have pots with sand where cigarettes must be carefully extinguished.
